Im Mathematikgebäude, in dem ich meine Semesterferien verbringe, um zu lernen, haben sie unter Anderem auch Hängepflanzen. Und wenn ich jeweils am lernen bin und gedankenverloren in die Luft starre, fällt mein Blick oft auf diese Pflanzen. Wie gerne würde ich einfach so wie sie sein: Sie können einfach vor sich hin hängen. Und sind dabei gar nicht mal so dumm. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Pflanzen, welche das nötige Wasser mühsam nach oben transportieren müssen, können sie einfach die Schwerkraft dazu benutzen. Auch beim Wachsen streben sie nicht nach oben und trotzen der Gravitation, sonden folgen ihr. Ein bequemes Leben führen diese Hängepflanzen.
Nach diesen gedanklichen Pausen wende ich mich jeweils aber wieder der Mathematik zu, denn so ein Leben wäre vielleicht bequem, doch sicherlich auch sehr eintönig: Immer bergab...

In the mathematics building where I spend my vacation to learn, they have hanging plants, among other plants. And when I'm learning and absentmindedly staring into the air, I often notice on these plants. I would love to be just like them, you can just hang the whole day. They aren't stupid: Unlike other plants which need to transport the water needed laboriously upward, they can simply use the force of gravity to it. Even as they grow they do not aspire to defy gravity rather than follow her. They lead a comfortable life, these hanging plants.
After these mental breaks I concentrate on mathematics again, for such a life would be convenient, but certainly very monotonous: Always down...
