Die blaue Stadt - The blue city

Frisch vom Hirn wird reaktiviert; mal schauen, wie lange ich es dieses Mal durchhalte. Ich habe mir hehre Ziele gesteckt: So will ich jeden Tag (ausser Samstag bis Montag) früh an die Uni und im Park die Morgensonne, die Aussicht und einen Kaffee geniessen, und dabei circa eine Stunde zeichnen. Was und wie ist dabei nicht so wichtig.

Freshly from the brain is reactivated; let's see how long I keep it up this time. I have set myself lofty goals: I want to go early every day (except Saturday to Monday) to the university, sit in the park and enjoy the morning-sun, the view and a cup of coffee, while drawing about one hour. What and how is not that important.

Die blaue Stadt
Im Früh-Frühling hat Zürich jeweils einen besonderen Reiz: Der Himmel spielt verrückt. Während er während den Wintermonaten vor allem Grau-Studien zeichnete, nimmt er jetzt wieder die Ölfarben nach vorne und trägt dick auf: Orange-rot blutende Wolkenstreifen am Horizont, mit den schönsten Farbverläufen im Himmel von einem dunklem Rot über Orange, Gelb, fast Weiss, feines Blau, durch die ganze Blaupalette bis hin zu dunklestes Schwarzblau.
Aber auch die Aquarellfarben lässt er nicht in der Schublade und zieht dabei alle Register: Der ganze Himmel, Üetliberg und die Stadt ist dann in feinsten Abstufungen von zartem Blau laviert. Die Umrisse verschwimmen, nur die Dächer der Häuser sind etwas rötlich und heben die Stadt doch noch vom blau-weissen Farbenmeer ab.

The Blue CityIn early spring Zurich has a special appeal: the sky plays crazy. As it drew mainly gray-studies during the winter months, it now takes the oil paints again and lays it thick on: Orange-red bleeding clouds on the horizon, with the most beautiful color gradients in the sky: from a dark red to orange, yellow, almost white, fine blue, through the whole range of blue to darkest black-blue.But it does not leave the watercolors in the drawer and it pulls out all the stops: The whole sky, Üetliberg and the city is then washed in subtle gradation of delicate blue. The outlines are blurred, only the roofs of the houses are slightly reddish and raise the city from the blue and white sea of colors.
